Winter vegetable season is in full swing! This week’s share proved this to be true with vegetables including Butternut Squash, Acorn Squash, Honeynut Squash, Broccoli, Scallions, Leeks, Carrots, Watermelon Radish, Arugula, and a few Siena Farms pins for the surprise!
After months of fundraising and planning, we have officially broke ground on the ChopChop Test Kitchen! It’s only the beginning, but we’re off to a great start, including bench construction and kitchen framework being set. We will be periodically posting updates in the upcoming weeks—check it out:
Did you know that potatoes come in all shapes, sizes, and colors? Potatoes are great because not only are they so many types, but you can also cook them so many ways! This week’s Kids’ Share included three types of potatoes along with some other cold-weather vegetables: Russet Potatoes, Kennebec Potatoes, Strawberry Paw Potatoes, Tuscan Kale, Scallions, Celeriac (Celery Root), Dill, Carrots, and Garlic. This week’s tool was a 1/8th cup measure.
Soup season has arrived! We love soups because they keep us warm during chilly Fall and Winter nights. Also, they are super fun to make and can be customized easily—not to mention, they make the entire house smell amazing!
It was a crisp spring morning as my mother and I crept quietly out of our Paris apartment, as my father slept soundly from an exhausting day at Versailles the day before. We chatted animatedly as we crossed La Tour Eiffel, which glistened in the early morning sun.
