Blogger and cookbook author Jenny Rosenstrach is this issue’s Healthy Hero. This “recipe” is from her new book, How to Celebrate Everything. Jenny says: “There are no measurements for this smoothie.”
Blender (adult needed)
- Fill the glass with strawberries. Don’t pack them—just lightly pile them together.
- Pour the milk into the same glass until it’s about 2/3 full, allowing the milk to sneak into whatever gaps remain between the berries.
- Dump the whole thing into a blender, whirl on high for 30 seconds, and pour back into the glass. Serve right away. Perfect every time.
No fresh strawberries? No almond milk? No problem! This is a very forgiving recipe— which means that it can handle all kinds of changes. Use frozen unsweetened strawberries (or cherries or blueberries), and regular milk, if that’s what you’ve got.
